Project 1 Famous People, Familiar Faces, Diagrammatic Abstraction
In this project, we are required to form a group in 5 and chose one of a famous architect (David Adjaye) and one his building (Dirty House). After that, research the details and concept of the building and produce a video about that building, complete set of architectural drawing of the selected building on A3 size tracing paper and 5 conceptual models in size of 6x6x6cm of the selected building.

Objective
- To investigate and to explore how spaces are created from the making of architectural elements: architectonics.-solid, planes, lines and frames.
- Upon completion of the project student should be able to achieve a level of understanding on the works assigned and will be able to apply the idea and concept to their project later.
- The idea of using pure and diagrammatic drawing to express the architectural idea would also be in cooperated into this assignment.
Learning Outcomes
- Ability to identify famous architects and their works
- Understanding basic architectural compositions of solids, planes, lines and frames.
- Ability to Diagram and analyse architectural work of selected architect.
By doing this project, I've more understanding about the architect, David Adjaye and also found out that how the he built and design his building that stick to a concept. Besides, I've also found out that there are always a story behind a building that make it special, unique and outstanding. Besides, I've also learnt the building method that can brings out certain effect such as the floating effect of the roof on Dirty House.
Project 2 Site Analysis, Pantai Kerachut, Penang
In this project, we have been given a site which is at Pantai Kerachut in Penang. The site have been divided into 2, site A (Beach) and site B (Lake). My group have chosen Site B (Lake) to analysis on.
Project 2(a) Bay Watch
In group of two, we are required to design a life guard post or a bay watch towel for the rangers to carry out their duty in size of volume 3x3x3m. The site given is on Meromatic Lake, Pantai Kerachut, Penang. Then come out with a series of detail drawings in scale 1:50, model in scale 1:50 and a verbel presentation.

Presentation |
The aim of this project is to generate form and space through architectural conceptualization, with the emphasis on exploring the user requirement and simple spatial organization skills and site responding to develop an architectural proposition. Students will be shown the importance of using the art of crafting and making: drawings and models as a critical design tool as part of the design process.
In this project, I've learnt how translate architectural element from images that inspired me into abstract drawings, conceptual model and to a building lastly. Moreover, I've also learnt the method of drawing details of the building, the curves parts mostly. I've also learnt how to make contour in this project.
Project 2(b) Retreat
In project 2(b) we are required to design a retreat at Pantai Keracut, Penang individually. A retreat denotes ‘A place affording peace, quiet, privacy and security. Where its occupant would reside for a short period of time. This retreat must function as a habitable architectural spaces to enable the activity associated with living, dining, cleansing, cooking, storage and much more within the built up space of 150 square meter. Then come out with a series of detail drawings in scale 1:100 on A0 sized paper, model in scale 1:100 and verbal presentation.

Objectives
- To introduce the notions of concepts, program and process in architectural design
- To introduce students’ to the understanding of user specific design requirements
- To introduce the notions of space, form and function in architectural design
- To introduce awareness of site specific design and the process of site analysis
In this project, I've learnt how translate architectural element from images that inspired me into abstract drawings, conceptual model and to a building lastly. Then, I'm able to arrange the spaces according to the site analysis sun path, wind direction and sound direction to achieve the best quality of space and view. I've also able to identify the different basic spaces that needed for different number of people. I've also learnt how to arrange my spaces using the concept of layering.
